Rimac sets another Record: Fastest Speed in Reverse
On November 7th, Rimac broke the record for the fastest speed in reverse, an incredible 171.34 mph (275.74 km/h).
Rimac has continuously broken record after record. Unlike cars with an internal combustion engine and some electric cars, most electric cars (including the Rimac) have a drive train without gears. Thus, in principle, it can go the same speed forward and backward.
During development, Matija Renic, Chief Program Engineer for the Rimac, joked that the Nevera could be the fastest car in reverse. After a year of smashing records, the team decided to go for it.
